New Member Training Passport
The …rolling enrollment. Your first year as a new member will serve as an introduction and orientation to the League.
Fun-filled training and development progream that will help prepare you for Active Membership in the Junior League
New Member Requirements:
As a new member you will spend 3 months familiarizing yourself with the league. Minimum requirements include:
- Attending monthly New Member Meetings.
- Participating in a New Member Project.
- Joining a Community Tour to visit nonprofit agencies that the League has supported or established by the League.
- Attending General Membership Meetings each month, unless excused.
- Paying annual dues.
Objective for your first year include:
- Explore the League’s Legacy: Review the history, accomplishments, and past projects of the Junior League of the Great Lakes Bay Region.
- Understand Our Structure: Gain an overview of the League’s committees and their functions.
- Familiarize with Governance: Understand the League’s By-laws and Operational Procedures.
- Facilitate Networking: Help new members connect positively with current League members through mentoring, social events, and volunteer opportunities.
- Encourage Cohesion: Promote relationship-building and networking within the new member class.
- Engage in Community Service: Participate in hands-on volunteer opportunities within the community.
- Complete a Project: Successfully complete a New Member project to contribute to our current focus of combating food insecurity to ensure that everyone in our communities has access to nutritious food.
